If we look at the initiatives related to education, skill development, and employment, then the 10 years of the Modi government can be considered as the golden period. In this, from preparing and implementing the new National Education Policy (NEP) to strengthening the infrastructure, all the work was done which was by the thinking of the youth and their needs. Among these, online and digital education is also an important step.
Arvind Pandey, New Delhi. 40 percent of the country's population is youth and children. These are the strengths of the country and their planning is also a challenge. If we talk about the traditional and all-time relevant issues of politics, the issue of 'employment' seems to be standing tall. The education system acts as a yardstick for good governance. If we test the ten years of the Modi government on this criterion, many aspects emerge.
Experts believe that the implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP), initiatives like making education employable, Skill India Mission, and Research Foundation have raised 14,394 new lines of skill in the hands of the youth. Due to these, the belief of the BJP including Prime Minister Modi has been strengthened that its efforts towards self-reliant India are on the path to success, and in this election also the vote of youth will again become the strength of the Modi government.
These 10 years were the golden period of the Modi government
If we look at initiatives related to education, skill development, and employment, the 10 years of the Modi government can be considered as the golden period. In this, from preparing and implementing the new National Education Policy (NEP) to strengthening the infrastructure, all the work was done which was per the thinking of the youth and their needs. Among these, online and digital education is also an important step. At present, more than four crore students in the country are connected through the Swayam platform alone.
Although efforts to increase digital education were going on for a long time, they gained momentum during the COVID period. When schools, colleges, and universities were all closed. In such a situation, students were taught online only. Now it has become a necessity. Especially those students who live in remote areas or are away from quality education.
Prime Minister Modi's programs like 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' by becoming friends with the new generation of the country are an example of this. As a result, rapid progress is being seen in areas like AI, machine learning, and robotics. After Chandrayaan and Aditya's missions, there is a plan to jump into space.
PM- Shri planted the seeds of change through schools.
Till now there was no single ideal situation in the country as to how schools should be. After the arrival of NEP, the Modi government decided to convert two government schools of each block into model schools and named it PM-Shri i.e. PM School for Rising India. Under this, in the first batch, the work of upgrading 6207 government schools in 515 districts of the country has started. Under this, Rs 630 crore has also been released to these schools.
Skill education became mandatory along with studies
To save the new generation from the sting of unemployment, the Modi government, after coming to power, started a campaign to connect them with skills. Created a separate ministry named Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Along with this, a target was set to connect 50 percent of the country's youth with some skill by 2030. In 10 years, 5000 new ITIs were opened, in which more than six lakh new seats were created. 1.40 crore youth were given training in some skill or the other. There are also a large number of women.
